The trailer of Award winning veteran Director Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen's Epic Historical Film 'Invasion 1897' The Ovonramwen Story. The 1897 invasion of The Benin Kingdom marked the climax in the inordinate exploitation of Africans and black peoples by the West. This sinister quest began with slavery and later evolved to the famed scramble for Africa where the entire continent was divided among the then European world powers. The shameful conquest of Africa was actually motivated by the greed and exploitation of the resources of the African people to the advantage of Europe and America. In 1987 the British Empire invaded the Benin Kingdom and made away with artifacts belonging to the Benin Kingdom. This movie attempts to open the hidden truths behind the invasion of the Benin Kingdom from the NIgerian Perspective to the World. Some of the stars in 'Invasion 1897' include British Actors Rudolph Walker and Charles 'Chucky' Venn and Top Nollywood actors, Charles Inojie, Paul Obazele, Segun Arinze, Mike Omoriegbe who played Oba Ovonramwen and the Late Justus Esiri in a cameo role.
