Born In Africa Festival Was A Blast.

The city of Lagos raved yesterday, 16th December 2018, with  the Born In Africa  Festival (BAFEST).

The Festival is the first of its kind as it celebrated African art: music; film; art;  fashion, and talents on a scale we have never seen before.

The festival opened with film screenings,  fashion and art exhibitions.

BAFEST partnered with the African International Film Festival (Afriff) to screen some amazing films. The films had earlier  been selected and screened at the last edition of the Afriff 2018 in November.  Some of them are the award winning cutting "Coat Of Harm", Afrofuturistic "Hello, Rain" and comedic people pleaser "Kasala" (still showing in cinemas nation wide). Brilliant thriller, "The Delivery Boy" was the closing film and this is one of my personal favourites.

The fashion sector blazed with creative designs from top names in the fashion industry from Amos Tafiri and Tiffany Amber to Bling Shiki and David Tlale. International super models Oluchi Orlandi, Millen Magese and Ojy Okpe were among the several models to grace the runway.

The art hall impressed with amazing artworks from reknowned artists, stunning us with colours and the brilliance of their craft. Reknowned artists ; Ibe Abanaba, Tolu  Aliki, Uche Edochie Olumide Onadipe and Isaac Emokpae are amongst this crowd.

The highlight of the event was the music concert which wrapped up the festival. Nigerian acts; Falz, Olamide, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Dbanj, Flavour, Timaya and Kiss Daniel, did us proud with outstanding performances.

Our African brother and sister, Awilo Logumba(Congo) and Sho Madjodzi(S.A) can't be left out as well as they thrilled the crowd with electrifying energetic performances that can only African.

We caught some celebrities hanging around the corner.

Nigeria continues to rupture the art place with its beautiful creativity and I could not be more proud of being, Nigerian; of being African. BAFEST is proof of the incredible gift that is Africa to the world and it was nice to see the amazing works and talents of our own.

BAFEST was presented by Access bank and produced by Live Spot. I can't wait for the next edition.
