African SmartPhone International Film Festival 2017 (ASIFF) holds 1st Edition

Micheal Osheku, Nigerian Filmmaker, Serial Entrepreneur and CEO, Oshmil House Company, the Founder and Creative Director of African SmartPhone International Film Festival, successfully held its maiden edition last weekend the 9th and 10th of December at Magnificent Cinemas, Lagos Nigeria. Where over 100 films were screened, masterclasses and an award ceremony.

All over the world, Smartphones, tablets and PC's are now considered one of the least expensive film equipment to be experimented by amateur and professional filmmakers and this style of filmmaking often requires minimum training and / filed experience to shoot, but its existence opens up a new way of making films with limitless potentials. As there premier smartphone film festival in Africa, ASIFF provides new emerging filmmakers an international platform to showcase ideas, talents and creativity irrespective of the budget or quality of the production.
It had a group of award winning filmmakers as its jury panel; Ehizojie Ojesebholo, Stanlee Ohikhuare, Judith Audu and Solomon Essang.
The Festival was made possible with partnership with Magnificent Cinemas, Lagos Nigeria, Realtime International Film Festival (RTF), Mightyjos Studio, Judith Audu Productions (JAP), Wefrica TV and Cerom Media.
