AFDF President Mykel Parish at the 35th Cairo International Film Festival

Mykel Parish the President of African Film Development Foundation represented Nigeria and was a speaker in the recently concluded 35th Cairo International Film Festival that held in Egypt on the 29th of November 2012. The theme was "African Cinema as a Medium of Political, Social and Cultural Emancipation and its Role in Improving Africa's Image". The panel was headed by The Minister of Culture. Dr. Saber Arab and managed by Ambassador Mona Omar Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs and African Union. The event had 6 speakers and two were from Nigeria Mykel Parish, President, African Film Development Foundation  and Newton Aduaka, an internationaly acclaimed director and producer, He was the producer of the international award winning movie EZRA. Also present was the South African Ambassador to Egypt, Zambian Ambassador, Obi Emelonye, the Director of the movie Last Flight to Abuja, Justine Akinson Director of Aya Distribution and lots of film makers from all over the world, Africa, Hollywood, Europe, Canada, Asia e.t.c. A lot of issues affecting the African Movie industry and how it can be moved forward was discussed , and also Nollywood and the Film maker experience.
