Complete list of the AFDA 2014 Winners...

The 2014 edition of the African Film Development Awards held in grand style during the 17th Zanzibar International Film Festival at the historic 450 years Old Fort Amphitheatre by the Indian Ocean in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The event started at 20:00hrs with an introduction by ace British/Tanzaniah fashion designer Farouque Abdela, host of this year's edition followed by an opening speech by AFDA CEO Mykel Parish who gave a brief history of his relentless efforts to promote African cinema and honour those who have contributed towards its growth.
Below are names of recipients of the African Film Development Awards 2014.

Best African Film Producer - Andy Boyo ( Spirit if the assassin/Cobra)/ Nigeria

Eddyliz award for best African Actor - AMR WAKED (winter of discontent)/ Egypt

Award for Best African Actress - Florence MASEBE (Elelwani)/ South Africa

Award for best screenplay in an African Film - John Kallage (Network)/ Tanzania

Boss Africa Magazine for best film Journalist - Gerald Langiri/ Kenya

Eddyliz Award for best African short film - Amil Shivji (Shoeshine)/Tanzania

Award for best new face of Nollywood - MIRIAM Orjiekwe/ Nigeria

Award for best African Film promoter - Hans Christian Mahnke/ Namibia

Award for best jury review - Shadow Tree/ Tanzania

Award for best African Film - Nairobi half life/ Kenya

Future of African cinema award - David Tosh Gitonga/ Kenya

Award for Best Kiswahili film - Network/ John Kallage / Tanzania

Award for best African Film director - Faouzi Bensaidi (death for sale)/ Morocco

Lifetime achievement award - Prof. Martin Mhando/ Tanzania

Special Achievement award for contribution to the development of African Cinema: 
  • Steps Entertainment Ltd/Distribution Company/Tanzania
  • Eddyliz Nigeria for their contribution to growing Nollywood
  • Peace Anyiam Osigwe/ AMAA/ contribution to the growth of African Cinema
  • Africa Magic for helping to grow and sustain the African Film Industry 
The 2015 African Film Development Awards will be unveiled during the Africa in Motion film festival this November in Scotland UK.
